When someone in the family is told they have diabetes, the first thing that usually goes is rice. Then chapati becomes the only option, then lunch gets boring, and a few months later the old habits come back. We see this a lot with the people who message us.
Our diabetic menu is built on a simpler idea. Keep the food familiar. Change the amounts and the pairing.
The plate split we use
Every box on the Diabetic Friendly plan follows roughly the same split:
That ratio matters more than any single ingredient. Rice on its own raises blood sugar fast. Rice eaten alongside dal, vegetables and a protein slows down.
Why we still serve rice
Most of our subscribers in Hyderabad grew up on rice. Taking it away completely is the fastest way to make them quit. So the rice stays, in a smaller portion, and the rest of the box does the work.
What we leave out
A real week from our menu
Monday is Paneer Biryani with veg sambar and a beans and carrot stir fry. Tuesday is grilled chicken with rice, rasam and sauteed vegetables. Thursday is vegetable pulao with moong dal pappu and bottle gourd curry. Four days a week come with 2 boiled eggs for extra protein.
